Cushenny House - tranquility awaits….

“Welcome.  My name is Maurica Mackle, and this is our former family home. My husband's family have lived on this site for over 100 years, and it was our home until recent years. Our two children were born here, so it has a really special place in my heart.”

We love Cushenny, its peace and solitude, the seasons as they evolve, the proximity to lovely towns and locations in Ireland, north and south, and the fabulous privacy it affords.  I know you will love it too.

My career has been spent in communications and tourism, so there are always great places I can steer you towards to visit, eat, explore and enjoy.  I am thrilled to have you visit our haven and can't wait to see the house buzzing with you and your guests.  I am always on hand if you need advice.

My favourite places:

Pizza - Zio's in Portadown

Brunch - Moy Larder

Dinner and cocktails - James St South in Belfast and cocktails in the Merchant, or dinner in Dunne and Crescenzi in Dublin, and cocktails in the Saddle Bar at the side of the Shelbourne.

Dinner locally at Brewers House, Head of the Road, or Batch Loaf, or Digby's.  All 'lick your plate clean' type places 🙂

M&W Meats, is just around the corner, the best butcher for miles, do not pass it 🙂

Long Meadow Cider - visit the orchards, sample the cider, and bring some home.  Pat, Catherine and family have looked after the lands here for decades, and the award-winning cider is excellent.  When in Armagh..................!

Do not miss places locally:

The Argory for walks along the river and some lovely afternoon tea and scones.

Peatlands park, to feed the ducks and walk among the precious boglands.

The Mall in Armagh, to stretch your legs, is great for bikes too.

Tomneys for Guinness and the antiques shop next door, which is nuts, it has a military helicopter for sale, next to some book stands, the craziest place, full of discoveries.

Moy village, Armagh town and the Linen Green for shopping, lovely boutiques for all.

Hill of the O'Neill's, Dungannon, hear the story of our ancestors.

The Planetarium Observatory, Armagh, to the moon and back 🙂

Further afield:

Divis and Black Mountain, for panoramic views over Belfast.

The Duke of York, for a great night's craic, just beside the Harp Bar and the Dark Horse - a trio of brilliance.

Giant's Causeway - to see the giants 🙂

Titanic Tours - it was fine when it left here 😉

The Gobbin's - a tour along the coast to blow the cobwebs off you.

Patterson's Space Mill - to see a billet of hot steel forged into a space, it’s deadly.

Derry City for the tours, the walls and the Derry Girls story.

Portstewart Strand Beach with ice cream from Morellis after, delicious.
